Indian off spinner and Rising Pune Supergiant's star bowler R. Ashwin is set to miss IPL 2017 for his team because of a sports hernia. He has to be out of action for six to eight weeks, it was reported on 31 March, Friday. Ashwin's exclusion doesn't come as a complete surprise, he picked up the injury immediately after the Test series against England in December. In the aftermath, he withdrew from Tamil Nadu's Ranji Trophy semi final clash against Karnataka. He played non-stop cricket since July is expected to regain full fitness ahead of India's title defence at the Champions Trophy in June. He is scheduled to begin his rehabilitation soon. Not only Ashwin but Ipl 10 may also have absense of Murali Vijay due to wrist and shoulder injury and K.L.Rahul shoulder injury, Kings XI Punjab and Royal Challengers Bangalore both franchise are awaiting a report from India phsyio Patrick Farhart before taking another step in the matter.
